Join the team

We are looking for new people to join the Ottawa Architecture Week organizing committee. OAW is a community run weeklong festival celebrating architecture and design. We host a range of events including: tours, exhibits, movie screenings, panel discussions, lectures, and social events. All of our events are open to public.

Positions:

Visual designer
Would produce visual assets for print, social media, and web campaigns. Has strong illustrative abilities and can maintain the OAW brand while adapting to yearly themes.

Event coordinators, tour coordinators
Would help us imagine and put together a wide range of exciting events. Ideal candidates are creative, adaptable, detail oriented, and full of can-do attitude. You must be comfortable cold-calling prospective partners, and maintaining a healthy relationship with them.

Fundraiser
This is an amazing opportunity for those looking to network and connect with Ottawa’s design and construction industry. You’ll be doing a lot of door-to-door pitching to standing and prospective partners.

Details:

● All positions are unpaid volunteering opportunities.
● Background in architecture or urban design is appreciated but not required.
● Overall commitment is about 5-10 hours per week.
● The committee meets once a week, and works remotely the rest of the time during the planning stages. In lead up and during the festival, we meet more often to prep and run the events. This year the festival is scheduled for September 30th ⁠to October 6th.
● Successful candidates are often welcomed to participate in subsequent years.
