Meeting Point: Entrance to the Geological Survey of Canada Building

Rain Date: Wednesday, Oct 2nd, lunchtime 12 - 1 pm

Participants will explore ideas to use the lot (approximately 100 m x 500 m) for a housing project / multi-use at the block of Rochester, Norman, Booth and Orangeville. Site is located downtown, close to Little Italy, see attached plan. With the current housing crisis, the need for much gentrification of this site is needed within the core of the city to create a vibrant space for new and younger population. As part the exercise the concept ideas should consider the use of green areas and also possibilities of adaptive reuse of current buildings located on the site or not. We'll look together at ideas, sketch some plans and/or perspectives. Feel free to sketch some ideas beforehand while exploring the site, if so please bring those (signed) drawings/sketches to the meeting. We would like to document/photograph all participants materials produced, to showcase as part of OAW Vernissage. The signed sketches (first and last name) will ensure that everybody will be given due credit for their ideas.
